Background

The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta received a $3.3 million dollar grant in 2006 from Alberta Health and Wellness to support continuing education needs of LPNs. In a one time endowment, the Alberta Government established parameters for spending that ensure an ongoing fund to support LPN continuing education into the future.

The Grant Guidelines, which focus on quality educational experiences intended to enhance the role of the LPN, were approved by the CLPNA Council and is administered by the Selections Committee of the Fredrickson-McGregor Education Foundation for LPNs.
